How to get there

Travel information

Getting to Denmark is easy. Aarhus is on the Danish peninsula Jutland in Northern Europe, which means you can go by car, bus or train from any of the North European countries. Aarhus is close to the E45 motorway.

There are flights from several destinations throughout the world to three different airports in Denmark. If you arrive in Copenhagen Airport – the largest in Scandinavia – you can either choose to fly on to Billund Airport, Aarhus Airport, or Karup Airport, or you can travel by train, bus or rent a car. From both Billund and Aarhus Airport there are airport busses to Aarhus.

 

 

By plane

Aarhus Airport located 40 km north of Aarhus and offers direct international flight connections to Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg, London/Stanstead, Gdansk, Girona, Helsinki and Malaga.

Billund Airport located 100 km south of Aarhus and has international flight connections to Amsterdam, Alicante, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, London/Gatwick, Manchester, Riga, Oslo, Stockholm, The Faroe Islands, Nice, Edinburgh, Stavanger, Bergen, Munich, Düsseldorf, Chania, Malaga, Tenerife, Milano, Nice, Antalya, Barcelona Girona, Pisa, Faro, Malta, Trapani, Helsinki, Salzburg, Dublin, Prag, Gran Canaria, Alghero and Rome.

Copenhagen Airport - with 65 airlines operating from Copenhagen Airport and more than 20 mil. passengers every year, Copenhagen Airport is Scandinavia’s biggest.

Airport shuttle busses;

There are bus services to Aarhus from both Aarhus and Billund airport. The travel time from Aarhus Airport to the city of Aarhus is approx. 45 minutes and from Billund Airport to Aarhus approx. 1.5 hours. Tickets are sold on the bus.

By train

Trains from Copenhagen Central to Aarhus Central operate on an hourly basis. Travelling time is approximately 2½-3 hours. There is also a direct train connection from Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus.

By bus

Busses run daily from Copenhagen (Copenhagen airport or Valby st) to Aarhus. For further information visit www.abildskou.dk.

 

By car

As in all parts of Denmark, Aarhus has an efficient road network which allows for easy driving access directly to the city – Hamburg is only a 3-hour drive. It is possible to park at the venue. No roadtaxes apply - except when using the bridge connections Sweden/Denmark and the Danish islands Funen/Zealand.
