By 2050 there will be nine billion people in the world, which will place enormous pressure on the world’s resources and the food tech industry. The conference focuses on the need for technological development and multi business model innovation in the food tech industry.

The challenges created by the pressure on the world’s natural resources require interdisciplinary research and developments of business models within the food tech industry in order to meet global demands in the future.

  • How can the food tech industry meet the demands of the future and increase food production through technology and multi business model innovation?
  • How can the food tech industry make better and smarter use of raw materials, products, services, processes and business models in the future in order to produce “more with less”?
  • How can the food tech industry meet the demands for more eco-friendly production, higher quality, better safety as well as healthier and tastier food in a future with higher pressure on natural resources?

The conference will place special focus on these and other related issues.

In the future, the food tech industry will need to increase food production through technology and multi business model innovation. The industry will need to develop learn new technologies and new business models with global suppliers, customers and users to meet the global demand for food.

The entire industry will need to make better and smarter use of raw materials, products, services, processes and business models. Food will have to be developed more eco-friendly and user-friendly to increase the shelf life of food and diminish the impact of production on the global society.

Technological innovation and multi business model innovation will have to be put to work in the food tech industry in a stronger collaboration between the food industry and research.

The conference will take place at 9.00-13.00 on October 29, 2014 at the Food Tech Fair at Messecenter Herning.
