Saturday November 11:

Guided tour of The Old Town in Aarhus 

A Rethinker will take you there by foot. Meeting time at the Scandic City lobby at 9.20 sharp! The guided tour starts at 10.00. The Rethinker will afterwards take you back to Scandic City - or you are welcome to stay at the Museum on your own.

Trip to Moesgaard Museum and guided tour

Meeting point will be at Scandic Aarhus City hotel, where a Rethinker from Aarhus 2017 will guide you to the public bus number 18 at Park Allé. Departure at Park Allé towards Moesgaard Museum is at 9.53. Meeting time at the Scandic lobby is 9.30 sharp! The tour at Moesgaard is at 10.30-11.30. The Rethinker will escort you back to the city with the first available bus after the guided tour has ended, but you are also welcome to stay in the Museum on your own. Please note bus number 18 leaves Moesgaard 3 times per hour on the weekend. The trip takes appr. 24 minutes and you need a ticket for two zones (cash only on bus - adult: 20 DKR).  For more information regarding transport by bus, please go to Midttrafik’s webpage

The theme of the guided tour: The People of the Sun

Hear the stories of the people of the Bronze Age, e.g. the story of how the southern Scandinavia and the rest of Europe made contact. Experience the erupting volcano on Santorini, learn more about the trade with antique Greece and the Egypt of the Pharaohs and find out how merchandise from the Nordic countries ended up in the Mediterranean and vice versa. Visit the burial mound of Borum Eshøj and gaze at the stars, which the people of the Bronze Age used to navigate by.

Tour of DOKK1

The tour will take you to the large new Library and Citizens' Services at Aarhus Harbour and home of the Aarhus 2017 and the nearby harbour area (on foot) at 10-12.
A Retinker will pick you up at Scandic City lobby at 9.20 and take you there by foot.
Your guide will be: Søren Bitsch Christensen, Municipal Archivist, Aarhus Municipal Archives.
