WORK GROUP MEETINGS THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Thursday afternoon we will join work groups for discussions and we plan to complete three 45-minute rotations on 3 important topics.

The work group meetings are held in a building different from the Søauditorium, which is where we have the lectures of the RSA Meeting. We will all walk from the Søauditoriums to the location of the work group meetings on the “University Tour” on Thursday afternoon:

Studenterhusfondens Conference Center

Aarhus University (Stakladen)

Conference Rooms 1.2,1.3, 2.2, 2.3

Building 1420

Fredrik Nielsens Vej 2

8000 Aarhus C

We ask that each group point out a group leader and prepare some statements/ideas on the work group topics to be presented on power point in plenum on Friday afternoon. The idea is to stimulate RSA networking and further discussions and decisions on ways forward.

Lead questions are given below to start and stimulate the discussion – please feel free to discuss broader than this.

Topic 1: Implant Migration & Standardization

·         How to perform, analyze and publish a clinical RSA study (RCT or cohort study)

·         At what locations should translations be measured to obtain maximum clinical relevance?

·         What are the important parameters (MTPM, Translations, Rotations)?

·         Signed or unsigned (absolute) values?

·         What are the clinical relevant thresholds that we can use?

·         What studies are necessary to establish these thresholds?

Topic 2: RSA Collaboration on Databases

·         What data to share (papers, limited data from studies, all migration data)?

·         How can we share these data?

·         Do we need an RSA registry?

·         How could we use an RSA registry?

Topic 3: Dynamic RSA and New Developments

·         How to examine joint motion with dynamic RSA?

·         What are the technical issues to be solved?

·         Stereo or mono (Fluoroscopy)?

·         CT/MRI-based migration measurements?

·         EOS-based migration measurements?

·         What is the status of these methods?

·         What validation studies are necessary?

·         Biomarkers & Migration.
