Applications for ICES Early Career Scientist Support are now open - please read how to apply below.
Deadline for applications: 1 September 2021
In order to support early career scientists to join the Baltic Sea Science Congress in Aarhus, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) is offering limited financial support to partially support travel costs to the congress. Awardees will be selected based on (1) an accepted abstract for a poster or oral presentation, (2) how well their application and abstract match the congress themes and (3) confirmation that they meet the criteria as listed below. Early career scientist grants can only be transferred to the selected participants when they arrive on site.
Please note that congress organizers cannot reimburse travel expense losses due to COVID-19 or other reasons, and this coverage and travel insurance protections should be supported by the home institutions of the congress participants. As such, you are strongly encouraged to discuss your travel arrangements with your home institutions prior to booking travel and accommodation, and wherever feasible, book refundable options. The grant is contingent on in person attendance at a physical congress.
If you meet all of these criteria and are interested in applying for ICES Early Career Support, please submit your CV and a brief motivation text about what you hope to accomplish by attending this congress (max 250 words) through this link and please login with the following credentials:
Successful applicants will be announced 22 September.
