The international course entitled: "Lost in integration – probing biomolecules with electrons, photons, neutrons and magnetic spins" for primarily PhD students (but also a few postdocs) will include lectures as well as group discussions, journal clubs, panel discussions and posters.
The course takes place in from 9-15 May 2022 on the Island of Spetses, Greece.
Max. number of participants: 40.
Principal themes and objectives of the meeting
With the advent of new synchrotrons, XFEL, and neutron sources combined with the dramatic developments in cryo-EM, super resolution microscopy, single-molecule microscopy/spectroscopy, NMR, and computational capacities, the possibilities for addressing advanced problems in structural biology, cell biology and physiology are on a fast move.
At the same time, it becomes increasingly important to integrate many methods to achieve proper models of structure and mechanism that describe dynamic interactions between biological macromolecules, their catalytic or signaling properties, how they integrate in interaction networks and pathways in the cell, and how such properties change with time.
With this workshop we will address these challenges and stimulate critical thinking, discourse and forward-looking visions.
