Grasshoppers and Golden Geese - Chinese tourits in Denmark

Chinese tourists have been attracting plenty of media attention in recent years. Often, the Chinese tourists are portrayed as either Grasshoppers – huge swarms of tourists descending on traditional destinations and ruining them – or as or Golden Geese creating huge potential earnings for the tourism industry. In Denmark, the vast majority of Chinese tourists are still found in and around Copenhagen. This talk will discuss the implications of the growth in Chinese tourism for Danish destinations outside Copenhagen, and the potential for attracting Chinese tourists to provincial Denmark.
