China is a very active player in the global competition for innovative young people with cutting edge knowledge and skills. This presentation will focus on Chinese overseas students: who are they, how do they cope with the study abroad experience, what is the government doing to make them return to China after graduation, and what could make them decide to stay in Denmark?
Stig Thøgersen, dr. phil., is professor of China Studies at the Department of Global Studies, Aarhus University. He has published extensively on Chinese education and on political, social and cultural change in rural China. He recently finished a research project on Chinese students in Denmark.
