The European Conference on Games Based Learning was established 17 years ago. It has been held in Austria, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Greece, Norway and France to mention only some of the countries that have hosted it. ECGBL is generally attended by participants from more than 40 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, practitioners, game designers and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of games-based learning and serious games. Among other journals, the Electronic Journal of e-Learning publishes a special edition of the best papers presented at this conference.
The conference is also host to The 12th International Educational Games Competition.
ECGBL 2024 is being held at Aarhus University, Denmark.
The world of education is a dynamic space to be in and game based learning has changed/transformed this learning space considerably over the past few years. Whether they be digital games or physical games or hybrid games or just game elements that you as an educator/researcher/practitioner bring to the education space, you know you are doing it for a specific purpose – enhance and improve the learning experience and knowledge of the target audience. The Faculty of Natural Sciences with its strong tradition in Deep Knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration is excited to host the 18th edition of this novel conference series on Game based learning.
