Pre-conference program

Program for Monday 12th June & Tuesday 13th June

Monday 12 June, 19.30, Musikhuset Aarhus:

WE THE 1% by FIX&FOXY

They live in ghettos. Predominantly spending time with those who already share their cultural values. Their children are enrolled into special schools and they don’t wish to contribute to the greater community. Fix&Foxy invites the wealthy into our imagination and our conception of what they are like and and how they live their lives. A performance dealing with vulnerability of being extremely rich and isolated from the surrounding society. Then there is a knock at the door: It’s the underclass.

Performed in Danish with English surtitles and English live translation for non scriptedsections.

We the 1 % is a co-production with Revolver, Copenhagen.

The production is supported by Danish Arts Foundation, Beckett-Fonden, Knud HøjgaardsFond, Østerbro Lokaludvalg, Danish Actors’ Association and Axel Muusfedts Fond

NBParticipants at EASTAP23 can get reduced tickets for the performance WE THE 1% - discount link will be sent directly out to all registrered participants.

Tuesday 13 June:

Excursion

A vist to NORDISK TEATERLABORATORIUM

What can be considered a theatre these days? Join this pre-Conference excursion to see how an old farm transformed into a living theatre laboratory environment. Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium invites EASTAP participants to their farm in Holstebro one day prior to the conference start in Aarhus. You will have time to investigate both the inside and outside of the ‘old farm’ - which is what they call their theatre.  Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium - Odin Teater is an international renowned institution located in Holstebro in West Jutland, which since its foundation in 1964 collaborated closely with the Dramaturgy department at Aarhus University. They create stories with audiences locally, nationally and around the world – on stages, in urban spaces, on tour, in schools, on screen and in virtual reality. The artistic starting point is an interest and curiosity in theatre forms from both Western and non-Western traditions, and a desire to create a unique expression based on this encounter. NTL's activities include online activities with conferences, workshops and streaming of performances

The price 500.- DKK. includes bus transfer from Aarhus (leaving 08.00 in the morning) from Busholdepladsen, Valdemarsgade, 8000 Aarhus C, a day full of events at the NTL farm including lunch and an afternoon snack. Participants will be back in time at Aarhus for the 19.30 performances (below). The bus arrives/departs 5 mins. away from all three venues of the evening performances.
