Constructive Institute (CI) is an independent organization situated on Aarhus University’s Campus. The mission of CI is to combat trivialization and degradation of journalism by emphasizing reporting that is more accurate, balanced and solutions-focused. The institute helps journalists and news organizations to apply constructive reporting in their daily work through providing access to an inspiring best practices portal, a world-class fellowship program, relevant training curricula, and initiating rigorous independent academic research.
Constructive Institute is a leader in the global movement around constructive journalism. Many newsrooms and journalists around the world are working and experimenting with constructive journalism Perceiving journalism as a filter between reality and the public reception of reality, the way journalism is produced contributes to how citizens make sense of the world. Constructive Institute is doing innovative and internationally renowned work through its new approach in journalism by rethinking how journalism has impact in the world, and how it can help the broader public address present and future challenges. At the core of the Institute’s work is an international fellowship programme where journalists and editors are trained to be ambassadors for better journalism to help change and improve culture in newsrooms and educational programmes.
