Title: Behind the scenes at the UN: Reflections on the potential for research impact in media and communications.

Over the years I have become increasingly committed to exploring the possibilities of research impact without, I hope, losing my critical and academic commitments. It has been an interesting journey, and, in my talk, I will share my experiences and what I have learned that may benefit others. ‘Impact’ is not for everyone, but for those of us whose research addresses topics of public or policy significance, it can be valuable to engage with ‘stakeholders’. I will ground my observations in my collaborative research on children’s rights in the digital age and highlight some of the challenging and controversial moments in working with the UN, UNICEF, platforms and NGOs.

Introduction and moderation: Pia Majbritt Jensen, Aarhus University.

When: Wednesday, 19 October 2022, 17-19: Conference Opening and Keynote.
Where: The keynote will take place in Aula – Campus North and is streamed to Per Kirkeby Auditorium (Lake Auditoriums – Campus South). The keynote is followed by a welcome reception at Lake Auditoriums.
