How to reach Aarhus

   
By road

Denmark is a peninsula in Northern Europe and has an extensive transport network of trains, buses and roads. Getting to Denmark is easy; you can go by car or train from any of the European countries. 

Planning for group travel by car, minibus, coach or train can be a more cost effective and environmentally friendly option.

By train

Aarhus is connected to Copenhagen with hourly trains. A railway hub in Hamburg mainly connects to major European cities. From here you will find connections to Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Prague, Paris, Berlin, and Vienna.

By air

Aarhus is well connected by air with two nearby airports, Billund and Aarhus. There are also direct train connections to Copenhagen Airport and Aalborg Airport. 

  • Billund airport - 1 hour 30 min by shuttle
  • Aarhus airport - 50 min by shuttle
  • Copenhagen airport - 3 hours 10 min by train
  • Aalborg airport - 1 hour 30 min by train

Getting around in Aarhus

   
By taxi

To book a taxi, please call this telephone number (+45) 8948 4848 or ask your hotel receptionist. There is also a taxi stand right outside the main exit of the train station and conveniently located taxi stands all over the city.

By bus

The bus route number on the yellow buses in the city indicated at the front and the back of the bus and the destination is displayed at the front and above the rear door.  

Please note that you cannot buy tickets on the bus or light rail.

By light rail

Getting around in Aarhus is also easy with the light rail, Letbanen. Stops are located throughout Aarhus, making it easy to experience the city. The area around the Central Station and Dokk1 is the main junction point.
