The conference invites contributions from different and diverse fields of inquiry including discourse analysis, conversation analysis, discursive psychology, critical discourse analysis, interaction analysis, rhetoric, narrative analysis, discourse theory, political discourse analysis, social semiotics, multimodal discourse analysis, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, textual studies, media studies, gesture studies, communication studies and organization studies.
The field of discourse and interaction research lends itself to interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange, as it explores the relations between text and talk on the one hand, and societal, cultural and psychological contexts on the other. However, researchers in the field are often located in different departments according to traditional scientific disciplines. An important aim of this interdisciplinary conference is thus to gather researchers and doctoral students from different traditions in order to facilitate interdisciplinary discussion and collaboration.
