In Aarhus it is said that everything is within walking distance, upon arrival it is clear why. When you arrive at the train station there is only a few minutes’ walk to your hotel or conference venue. From here, within minutes, you have the opportunity to experience the vibrant city life with restaurants, shopping, museums and cultural experiences - just waiting for you to explore.
The entire city is clean, compact and well-organized, which makes walking an excellent and enjoyable way to get around.
From the city center to the university is a walk of approximately 30 minutes.
Denmark is an ideal country for cycling. Cycling is the fastest, easiest and most environmentally friendly way to travel around in Aarhus. The conditions for cyclists are one of the best in the world and constantly being improved. Look out for the special cyclists’ routes (cykelruter) and bike lanes (cykelstier). Remember to be mindful on the biking lanes and to wear a helmet.

Aarhus Sporveje, the municipal bus company, runs the yellow buses in the city. The bus route number is indicated at the front and the back of the bus and the destination is displayed at the front and above the rear door. The yellow city buses can take you all over Aarhus from 05:00 to 00:00. On Fridays and Saturdays, there are night buses, at doubled price. One-way tickets for 2 zones can be bought from a ticket machine on the bus (cash only) for DKK 26,00 or via the Midttrafik app. The only way to a buy a multiride ticket is through the Midttrafik app, where a 10-ride ticket for 2 zones costs DKK 230,00 or you can purchase a one-day-ticket for DKK 99,00.

Getting around in Aarhus is easy with the tram, Letbanen, Midttrafik. Stops are located throughout Aarhus, making it easy to experience the city. The area around the Central Station and Dokk1 is the main junction point. Be aware that, there are no departures between 01:00 and 06:00 in the morning.
Please note, you must purchase a ticket before entering Letbanen, as you can't buy tickets on the tram.

To book a taxi in Aarhus you can call Aarhus Taxa: +45 89 48 48 48 or DanTaxi: +45 48 48 48 48. A taxi can also be booked via the Uber app. You may also ask your hotel receptionist to make a booking for you. There is a taxi stand right outside the main exit of the train station and conveniently located taxi stands all over the city.
