Danish Chinese Research Network (DCRN) 5th Biennial Conference

The China Moment: Reflections on a Changing Nation and World

Conference Theme

China is navigating economic restructuring, demographic pressures, social inequality, and new forms of digital governance. Internationally, China’s diplomacy, technological ambitions, climate engagement, and role in multilateral institutions are reshaping global politics and cooperation, while also intensifying geopolitical tensions.

The “China moment” captures this period of intensified uncertainty and influence, in which China increasingly shapes global debates on governance, business, sustainability, technology, and world order.

This interdisciplinary one-day conference brings together scholars and postgraduate researchers based in Denmark who work on China-related topics. The aim is to share ongoing research, strengthen national research corporation and networks, as well as situate Danish China studies within broader European and global discussions.
