Situated in the heart of Aarhus DGI-huset is conveniently placed close to public transportation, hotels and Aarhus' many attractions.

DGI-huset is located in protected buildings, which from 1896 and onwards were part of Aarhus' largest workplace at the time: The State Railways Central Workshop. The large factory buildings were called the wagon inspection workshop, and for more than 100 years locomotives were built and repaired in these buildings. Several characteristics from the previous functions such as the large doors, where locomotives could drive in and be placed over the pit and old overhead cranes that could be lowered down through the entire building at a height of 6 meters have been preserved in the buildings.
