Currency: Danish Kroner (DKK). Current rate, June 2016: 1 USD $ ≈ 6.6 DKK; 1 EUR € ≈ 7.4 DKK; 1 GBP ₤ ≈ 9.4 DKK. Most shops accept Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard and EUR € in cash. Ask before paying.

Electricity: 220 V AC, 50 Hz and two-pin continental plugs.
Language: Danish, but most Danes speak English. The conference will be conducted in English.
Passport and Visa: Denmark is a part of the European Union (EU). EU-citizens require a passport (and most airline companies also requires this), but no visa is needed. For non-EU citizens, please consult your local Department of Foreign Affairs. It is recommended to apply and obtain your visa at the earliest possible time before the conference. The organisers can provide invitation papers, if needed.
Safety and disease: In Denmark and Aarhus, it is considered safe to walk the streets at any hour of the day. As in any city, pickpockets occasionally disturb. Please ensure your own travel insurance, and for EU-citizens, please obtain the European Health Insurance Card. Emergency calls for police: +45 114. Emergency calls for ambulances: +45 112. Out-of-hour medical service (4 PM-8 AM): +45 70 11 31 31.
Time zone: CET. Denmark has summer time.
Tipping: Appreciated, but not expected. 10 percent of the bill is sufficient.

Water: Denmark has high-quality water from the tap (often cleaner than bottled water!)

Wi-Fi: Available for free at the conference site.
Insurance and liability: Neither the organizers, nor the university take any responsibility for injury or damage involving persons or property during the conference. Participants are advised to take out their own health and travel insurance.
