Welcome to the ReThink Eating 2020 Conference

The Food Quality Perception and Society Team at the Aarhus University Department of Food Science warmly welcomes you to our virtual conference.

This is not a traditional conference. We want to invite people from different backgrounds and disciplines to come together and brainstorm the future of eating. Due to the recent COVID crisis, it has been made clearer than before that we need to rethink not just what we eat, but also how we eat, and who we can share a meal with.

You are invited to join us in coming up with daring and creative solutions, and we want to hear your questions around pressing issues. In these increasingly serious times, we welcome the weird, wacky, and wonderful. Maybe even a sprinkling of magic. 

We aim to address big questions like:

  • Why do people eat the way they do?
  • How does digital information influence our physical reality?
  • What role can technology play in creating new eating experiences?
  • How can we rethink what it means to eat together? 
  • The conference is fully online and free of charge.
  • Registration deadline is November 26
  • The conference is made possible by the Carlsberg Foundation Young Researcher Fellowship project "Virtual and augmented flavours: Extending human flavour perception via novel sensory inputs"
