This event will be hosted on Gather Town (link will be sent around), on the 27^th of May, from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST.  

Gather is an online social platform, which combines the functionality of zoom, with an interactive virtual space. Once you have clicked the link, you will be asked to create a virtual avatar, and choose a name. Please choose the same name as you use on zoom.   

Once you have created an avatar, you will be placed in the YAO 2021 social event space. Here you can move around the virtual space, using either the arrow keys or w/a/s/d. If you move close to another avatar a videocall will automatically be established between the two of you.  

In the space you will find tables with games and lounge areas. These Lounge areas function as meeting rooms, meaning that anyone who enters the lounge area, will be connected in a common videocall. Feel free to discuss and chat in these lounge areas.  

If you want to play a game with the other participants, simply walk you to the table with the game you wish to play and press x on your keyboard. This will open a window with the game in question. You will also be connected in a videocall with all the other players at the table. From here you can setup your games as you please. You will find the games tables at the bottom left, and top right edges of the space.  

The games we have available in the space are:  

• Chess, the classic game of strategy! You will find the chess tables at the left and rightmost edges of the space. 
• Poker, the true test of luck, skill, and intuition. This is of cause a free version, with no real money involved.  
• Fishbowl, a party game where two teams take turns guessing a word or a phrase written on secret note.

• Codenames, a game where two teams race to identify which of the 25 Codewords are their own. They do this by listening to their Codemasters, who take turns giving one-word clues.

• Set, a pair finding game.

• Draw Battle, a game where two teams try to draw and guess each word before the opposing team. 
• Skribbl, is a multiplayer drawing and guessing game. One game consists of a few rounds in which every round someone must draw their chosen word and others have to guess it to gain points!

• Dominion, a card-based deck building game, where you each turn draw new cards from your deck and play them, in order to gain victory points!
