Presentation Formats

There are three main presentation formats at HBES 2024:

  • Poster: Poster boards will be made available to poster presenters. Each poster presenter will have a poster board at their disposal, and each poster board is 150 cm wide (~59") and 120 cm tall (~47"). An A0 poster would fit both horizontally and vertically on a poster board.
    • It is not possible to have your poster printed on campus, but there are print stores in downtown Aarhus that can produce posters from files, e.g. Vesterkopi and Lasertryk. It costs around $100 to have a color poster printed in A0 (841 x 1189 mm, 33.1" x 46.8") and around $65 for a color A1 (594x841mm, 23.4x33.1"), and it can typically be done day-to-day - but it is also possible (and probably safer) to send the print file to the store ahead of the conference and then pick up the print when you arrive in Aarhus.
  • Blitz: A blitz is 5 minutes long plus 1 minute for a single audience question.
    • Blitz presenters can use their own laptops (there is HDMI connectivity in conference rooms) or load their presentations (in Powerpoint or PDF) onto room laptops (PCs) during breaks preceding the panel. Importantly, given the time constraints on blitz talks, all blitz presenters are asked to report to the room of their talk during the break preceding their talk to ensure that all presentation technology works. It may be 2024, but Murphy's Law still applies (maybe especially to government-issued A/V systems).
  • Panel talk: A panel talk is 15 minutes long plus 5 minutes for Q&A.
    • Panel presenters can use their own laptops (there is HDMI connectivity in conference rooms) or load their presentations (in Powerpoint or PDF) onto room laptops (PCs) during breaks preceding the panel.
