A good alternativ to walking or taking a cab is the city busses in Aarhus, they are all yellow. You enter the busses thorugh the middle doors (if it is a long bus) or the back-end (if it is a short bus), and you leave the bus through the front doors. The name of the bus stop is announced through the speakers + at a small screen in the bus. Press a red stop button when you need to exit the bus when your bus stop is being announced.
In the bus you buy a ticket from the automated machine located in the middle/back of the bus. The machine accepts coins (it gives change), but only coins. The validity of the ticket is shown at the back of the ticket. You in general only need to purchace a 2-zone ticket to travel within Aarhus City, the cost is DKK 20 and the ticket may also be used in transit busses for 2 hours. If you do not have a ticket you risk a fine of DKK 600.
IT IS FAIRLY EXPENSIVE TO TAKE A TAXI IN DENMARK, SO WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OPTION.
The venue can easily be reached by bus - bus 1A leaves frequently from both Viby (Zleep Hotel) and the city centre. The nearest bus stop by the venue is "Aarhus Universitetshospital. Nørrebrogade". From here, it's only a short walk untill you reach the Lakeside Lecture Theatres by crossing the road ("Nørrebrogade") through the underground path.
For each of the following rides you will need to buy a 2-zone ticket (20 DKK). You will find all mentioned bus stops at the map below.
The entire city is clean, compact and well-organised, which makes walking an excellent and enjoyable way to get around.
To walk from the centre of the city to the conference venue takes approximately 30 minutes.
Aarhus City Bikes are available (free of charge) at various locations in the downtown area. You simply insert a 20,- DKK coin to get the bike is released when you return the bike (or you can also simply leave the bike and some kid will in all likelihood return it and collect the 20,- DKK).
