Practical information

Venues

The workshop will be held across multiple venues, where the official programme is held on Aarhus University's campus, while the social programme is held at venues in downtown Aarhus. The maps to the right gives an overview of where the venues listed below are. Click the images to get the full-size maps for download.

Conference venue

The workshop will take place in the “City Auditorium” (Byauditoriet, building number 1790) located on the main campus of Aarhus University. The address is:

Welcome reception

The welcome reception takes place at the Steno Museum

Astronomer’s mixer

The venue for the Astronomer’s mixer is Salling Roofgarden, which is found on top of one of the large department stores in Aarhus. To get to the mixer, you should go to Salling and make you way to the top floor. Here, you will find stairs or an elevator that will take you to the roof, where you will be guided to the mixer. The address of Salling is:

Excursion

There are two excursion options, the art museum ARoS:
ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum,
Aros Allé 2,

and the amusement park Tivoli Friheden, which is also the location of the 
conference dinner (see below)

The conference dinner will take place at Herman’s in Tivoli Friheden located at:

Hotels

Please note, that you need to book your own accommodation.
Aarhus has a large variety of hotels, and the workshop venue is easy to reach from the city centre either by walking or by public transportation. A link to a variety of hotels can be found here

Transportation

Traveling within Aarhus, as well as the trip to and from Aarhus or Billund airport can be done via busses. To that end, it is possible to buy a single ticket that covers all travel with Midttrafik's busses within Aarhus, and to and from Aarhus and Billund airport from 4th to 12th of July.
The ticket costs 599 DKK (~80 EUR), and requires an app on your smartphone to buy and use.
