About

The Nordic Ground Vibration Day is a one-day, single-track conference on topics related to ground vibrations in a geotechnical context. It has been arranged in Oslo 2012, Aalborg 2014, Stockholm 2016, and Trondheim 2018. The participants of the conference are those with an interest in measurements and modelling of ground vibrations as well as experts working with mitigation of ground vibrations. The Nordic Ground Vibration Day serves as a meeting place for academics, engineering consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and others with a common interest in ground vibration.

Following the traditions of the previous events, the Fifth Nordic Ground Vibration Day, NGV 2022, takes place in Aarhus. The themes for NGV 2022 will be recent advances and applications of methods for measuring and modelling ground vibrations. Presentations of case studies as well as method and technology development are equally welcome.

The Bengt Broms lecture will be held by Professor Amir M. Kaynia, NTNU, who is also a geotechnical expert at Norconsult AS. The topic for his lecture will be ground vibration from high-speed lines on soft ground: site characterization, numerical modelling, and countermeasures.
